Services

Just like family, our patients are very important to us. We have dedicated this website to help provide answers and to educate our patients.

Ankle Brachial Index

This is a test utilizing ultrasound, blood pressures cuffs and sometimes exercise to determine if you lack blood circulation to your legs. The test is performed by a certified technician.

Carotid Doppler
This is an ultrasound of the arteries in your neck that feed your brain to determine if you have blockages and are at risk for a stroke.  The test is performed by a certified technician.

Cholestestick
Blood test to check your cholesterol level utilizing a finger stick.

Coumadin Clinic
Regular monitoring of  INR is required for all patients taking Coumadin/Warfarin. We test this using a drop of blood from a finger stick. Coumadin dosages are adjusted depending on the results of the INR lab test.

ECP Enhanced External Counter pulsation
This is a noninvasive treatment for chest pain (angina) in patients who are not candidates for, or have already had angioplasty/heart surgery. It has also been recommended for patients with heart failure and angina. It requires 35 one hour treatments, and has been shown to improve exercise tolerance and quality of life.

Echocardiogram (ECHO)
This is an ultrasound of your heart and indicates how effectively your heart muscle pumps blood. It also allows us to assess your heart valves and the way the walls move. The test is performed by a certified technician.

Event Recorder
This is a cardiac monitor which is carried with you or worn for Specific number of  days. This enables you to indicate when you feel something abnormal, and allows us to associate your symptoms with your Heart rhythm. It may be ordered when you have complaints about dizziness, skipped beats, or when your palpitations are too infrequent to be seen in a 24 hour period.

Exercise Stress Testing
This test allows us to monitor your EKG while you walk on a treadmill, and helps us to evaluate your EKG with exercise. You will be asked to hold certain blood pressure medications (beta blockers, calcium channel blocker) prior to the exam. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Exercise Stress Myoview Testing
This is an exercise stress test (walking on the treadmill) with nuclear imaging of your heart. This test takes longer than regular stress test and requires the use of radioactive isotope which is injected and absorbed into the heart muscle. You will get to sets of pictures at rest and post exercise; a cardiologist will compare the pictures looking for changes in blood flow to your heart muscle. This provides more specific information about your heart's blood supply and is ordered when your exercise stress test is abnormal, or if your EKG is abnormal at baseline.

Persantine / Adenosine Myoview
This is the same as a stress myoview, however does not require walking on a treadmill. Instead, a medication called Adenosine or Persantine is injected to dilate your vessel just like your body would if you were physically able to walk. This test is ordered if you have a medical condition that prohibits you from walking or if you have certain EKG abnormalities.

Pacemaker Clinic
In this clinic, a specially trained technician evaluates your pacemaker, loop recorder, or implantable defibrillator. They check the battery life of your device and monitor any problems and make any adjustments required. They work under the physician's guidance.
